Couple Therapy in Orange County

Children at this age start developing a sense of self and questioning their capabilities. Their self-esteem is influenced by familial, peer, and school relationships. Difficulties in these relationships or other disruptive life events such as parent separation, loss, or adverse childhood experiences could impact a child’s ability to cope with stressors.

Most children do not know how to or have the skills to process and attend to their emotions. They rely on parents or other family figures to help them with day-to-day struggles.
